Come to the first official national monument in the U.S.
Located in Eastern Wyoming, Devil's Tower is considered holy to the Native Americans. If you're interested in history, be sure to stop by this monument. You will notice a sculpture here, which was made in honor of the local Native American tribes. This offers a great place to hike during the summer. Choose from 4 different trails ranging from 30-minutes up to a two-hour long hike. The main hiking trails leading to the sculpture, the picnic area, and parking lot are accessible all year round.
The cracks in the surface of this indigenous rock make it the perfect place to go rock climbing. Be sure to check-in at the local store before you try freestyle rock climbing; they like to know that you made it back safely. Stop by the visitor center while you’re there too. Though the monument is always open to the public, the shop and the visitor center have specific hours. You can also take a stargazing tour or camping trip near the monument.
