Named after a gold mine that may or may not exist, Lost Dutchman State Park is a beautiful place located 40 miles east of Phoenix, Arizona. Have a blast on the hiking or biking trails and consider extending your visit by booking a campsite. Stories of the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine are well known and date back to over a century. Some people have spent years searching for gold in these mountains but none have successfully found golf.
There are six trails to choose from, ranging from easy to moderate. Mountain bikers can explore four miles of single-track at the bottom of the Superstition Mountain. Picnicking is another pastime for many visitors that have come to this park. The Lost Dutchman State Park is open year-round and the trails are available from 6 am to 8 pm daily. Visitor Center hours are 7 am to 3:30 pm on weekdays and 6 am to 3:30 pm on the weekends.
