Relax and soak in the fresh air at Lake Ouachita.
Lake Ouachita State Park is about 15-miles northwest of Hot Springs National Park. This is the deepest lake in Arkansas and it is surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest. Lake Ouachita is ideal for all water sports, including boating, fishing, swimming, tubing, and even scuba diving. Anglers can expect to find bream, catfish, largemouth bass, crappie, and striped bass in these waters. You should also take a look at the exhibits inside the visitor center. Feel free to ask the rangers about their guided hikes and eagle cruises while you're there.
Experienced hikers and landscape photographers enjoy exploring the Caddo Bend Trail, a 4-mile trail featuring large fields of wildflowers, boulder gardens, and scenic slopes overlooking the lake. Dogwood Trail is an easy, half-mile hike within the park that is great for less experienced hikers or those interested in a shorter hike. With over 75 RV sites, 8 lakefront cabins, and a dozen walk-in tent sites, camping at Lake Ouachita is perfect for all kinds of visitors. The park campgrounds and picnic area are open year-round, and the marina is open from March to November annually. Book your next camping adventure in Arkansas at Lake Ouachita State Park.
