Stop at this state park in the heart of New York's wine country.
Keuka Lake State Park is located southeast of Rochester, New York. Outdoor recreational activities you can do here include hiking, fishing, hunting, swimming, kayaking, and camping. Hunting permits are required to hunt game during the season, including deer, turkeys, and ducks. Near the main parking lot closest to the park office, there is a volleyball court, swimming beach, picnic area, restroom, and first aid station. To the right of the park office, you can explore the Vineyard Trail, a 1.3-mile secluded hiking trail. The Blue, Red, and Purple Trails are the easiest hiking trails to navigate and are each 0.4-miles long (one-way). These hiking trails branch off from the campground area and end near Keuka Lake.
If you love camping, this state park has 150 campsites that can accommodate tents or trailers, with 53 of those sites with electric hookups. There are three main campgrounds, Deer Run, Esperanza View, and Twin Fawns. Each of these campgrounds is set up in a circle with a centrally located restroom. Camping is available annually from mid-May to mid-October and the marina is open from April through October. Keuka Lake State Park is open year-round from dawn to dusk and this is a neat place to get away from it all.
