Enjoy a walk in this Rhode Island park.
India Point Park features views of the Providence Harbor and Seekonk River, green space with shady trees, a playground, picnic tables, and parking. Many people enjoy exploring the landscaped walkways along the Providence River. There are benches and signage with information about the area along this easy 1.5-mile trail, which eventually connects to the East Bay bike path. Before this became a park, the Brown family (of Brown University) had a shipping harbor here. It was named India Point Park because The Brown family used to have tea shipped from India and China.
Feel free to come and spend the day outside at this city park. Biking, jogging, and walking are the most popular activities, but there are also soccer fields available. Leashed dogs are allowed at the park. Several festivals and concerts are held at India Point Park, such as the RI Music and Arts Festival, the Seafood Festival, and the annual 4th of July fireworks show. If you're visiting Providence, Rhode Island, head to the Fox Point neighborhood and spend quality time at the India Point Park.
