Farming history comes to life at the Howell family farm.
Located in western New Jersey, this living history farm is where guests can see what farming was like during the early 1900s. This rural farm has been operating for over 250 years and features people wearing period costumes and doing daily farm chores. They often ask visitors to help out with things, so be prepared to get your hands dirty and assist in the labor of the day.
It is open year-round and was set apart as a gift to the public from the last owner, Inez Howell. She donated the farm to Mercer County in 1974 and asked that it remain a living history farm for future generations. The Howell Living History Farm is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission and parking are free for all guests. They also have an annual corn maze in the fall; if you come for the corn maze, there will be a parking fee. Please do not feed the animals and note that pets are not allowed, but service animals are welcome. This attraction is great for anyone wanting to learn about farming.
