Take a relaxing day to enjoy Wyoming’s full-service hot spring that is free and open to the public.
Located right off of US Highway 20, this is a perfect spot to visit on your way to Yellowstone National Park. The Native American Shoshone tribe believed that soaking in the hot springs helped their warriors become invincible during battle. This hot spring stays at a constant temperature of 135 degrees Fahrenheit and there is a free bathhouse nearby too. Bathhouse hours are Monday through Saturday 8 am to 5:30 pm and Sundays from 12 pm to 5:30 pm and is closed during the winter months. In the summer holidays, it is open from 12 pm to 5:30 pm. Towel and swimsuit rentals do cost extra here.
If you want to go boating while you’re in the area, the Big Horn River is right up the street from the hot springs and has a boat ramp. There is also a suspension footbridge that crosses the Big Horn River that offers beautiful vantage points of the surrounding area. You may also be able to see a herd of free-roaming bison in the area if you look closely. This is a great place for couples to take a weekend away. If you want to stay here overnight, there are a couple of hotels in very close proximity to the hot springs.
