Come to the place where you can set foot in 4 different states all at once.
Have you ever wanted to be in multiple states at once? Now you can, at The Four Corners Monument. Take a look at the point at which Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah meet. It is the only place in the United States where you can be in 4 states at once.
After the Mexican American War, the government decided that Arizona and New Mexico’s northern border would line up with Utah and Colorado, which were already states at the time. Over the years, there has been debate about whether or not these states’ boundaries were where the United States intended them to be. However, the four corners monument is indeed in the right place geographically.
The monument is part of the Navajo Nation and is part of the Navajo Nation Parks. Admission is $5 per person over six during the fall and winter months and doubles in price during spring and summer. At the monument, feel free to take pictures, try some Navajo fry bread, and take a look a the sellers who make Navajo jewelry and other items. While you’re in the area, you can also visit the Grand Circle, including the Grand Canyon, Arches, Canyonlands, and Mesa Verde National Parks.
