Bethany Beach Nature Center is open year-round and is located right off of State Route 26. Children and adults will enjoy the Balwin Nature Trail, featuring an easy-to-follow boardwalk that leads through the wetlands and maritime forest within the nature center. Bring your binoculars and watch the birds as you go. Over 100 species of birds live here, including owls, great blue herons, bald eagles, ospreys, and hawks. There is also a historic cottage on site dating back to the early 1900s.
Be sure to stop by the native plant demonstration garden. They have tons of plants and flowers which attract pollinators. Hours vary seasonally, but the nature center is usually open Monday through Friday from 10 am to 3 pm, and Saturday from 10 am to 12 pm.
