Learn all about American Saddlebred horses, the only breed native to Kentucky.
Situated at the Kentucky Horse Park, you will find a stunning and recently remodeled museum dedicated to informing the public about Saddlebred horses. The Saddlebred is the only horse breed native to Kentucky. Inside the museum, there are wonderful exhibits depicting the history of Kentucky's equestrian heritage. This museum features artifacts, trophies, artwork, and photography. It also has videos, a movie, and a children's area.
Their research library contains over 3,000 books that are utilized for bloodline and genealogical research. Be sure to buy something at the gift shop before you go. They sell clothing, pillows, socks, candles, key chains, ornaments, cards, blankets, and toys. They are open Wednesday through Sunday year-round.
