Ackley Lake State Park is situated in the heart of Montana. This is a perfect place to enjoy beautiful surroundings under Montana's big sky. Ackley Lake State Park encompasses nearly 300-acres where visitors enjoy camping, fishing, water skiing, and bird watching. This lake is a 190-acre reservoir that offers plenty of space to participate in all sorts of water activities. You can also stay at one of the 26 campsites, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
From the lake, you can see the Little Belt and Snowy Mountains on the horizon. If you enjoy bird watching, keep an eye out for Mountain Bluebirds, Western Tanagers, American Dippers, and more during the migratory season. There are ample amounts of rainbow trout and tiger muskie for anglers to catch during the summer. If you can brave the cold, ice fishing is also available here.
