Take a long train ride through the forests and small towns in scenic Maryland.
The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad is located off Interstate 68 in northwestern Maryland. This vintage train takes guests on a winding, scenic route from Cumberland to Frostburg. It is 16-miles long and takes 4.5-hours for one round-trip. Popular trips include the Easter Train, Family Pizza Night, Murder Mystery, and Polar Express Train. There is usually a 90-minute layover in Frostburg, but there are several shops and restaurants on the town's Main Street, so feel free to explore the area while you're there. If you would like to stay in Frostburg overnight, be sure to check the train schedule so that you can make it back to Cumberland.
Adult rates include everyone ages 13 and above, and children ages 2 and under who will sit in your lap the whole time are allowed free admission. However, if you book an experience with dining included, all guests who will be dining will require payment. Please note that only service animals are allowed on the train, not pets. If you love scenic train rides, consider booking a trip with the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad.
