The Three Rivers Petroglyph Site is situated in south-central New Mexico. This is without a doubt a stop you don’t want to bypass if you are road tripping through this portion of the state. This petroglyph site is one of the most impressive ones in the country, with over 21,000 petroglyphs that date back to between 900 and 1400 AD. The site expands on over 50 acres of desert, and it is the perfect place to spend a day outside exploring and learning about some of the remarkable history that is embedded in this region.
At the Three Rivers Petroglyph Site, you can expect to see carvings of various animals, plants, humans, and abstract designs on the rock formations. At the site, visitors are also welcome to enjoy the hiking trails, picnic facilities, and campsites.
