Dating back to over 11,000 years, come and visit this early Pueblo village.
If you love the outdoors and enjoy learning about history, this is a great stop in New Mexico. Featuring a 1.5-mile hike, it takes you through caves along a mesa where you can see ancient petroglyphs indented into the rocks. Dating back over 11,000 years ago, you will learn about the Pueblo village of Tsankawi as you traverse around the area.
Not only do they have several different hiking trails, but there is also a visitor center to explore. There is also a museum and theater of Bandelier; check out their website to learn about upcoming events or shows. The Juniper Campground is available for use as well if you want to stay in the area for a few days. This is a unique area, so be sure to bring a camera along to capture what you see during your visit.
