Visit this historic home and art gallery that showcases a variety of works from the Taos region.
Take the time to appreciate some exquisite art and over a century of history in New Mexico at the Taos Art Museum at Fechin House. Built by the renowned Russian-American artist Nicolai Fechin, who was primarily recognized for his portrait works, this museum explores artworks from the early 20th century that were created in the region. The Taos Art Museum moved to the gorgeous and architecturally unique Fechin home in 2002 – Nicolai carved the columns, stair rails, doors, and furniture throughout the house. There are also beautiful gardens on the property that visitors are welcome to stroll and enjoy moments of peace.
The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday and offers free admission to the studio, grounds, the museum store, and residents of Taos County can enjoy the gallery free of charge on Sundays. Otherwise, there is an admission fee for entering the gallery itself, and groups of 10 or more are offered a discounted rate. There are exhibits that cycle throughout the year, ensuring a fresh perspective with each visit. The Taos Art Museum at Fechin House is a remarkable slice of history and artistic wonder and offers a perfect dose of Taos culture when you spend an afternoon here!
