National Presidential Wax Museum

See over 100 realistic wax figures featuring 46 U.S. Presidents.

The National Presidential Wax Museum features life-sized wax replicas of 46 U.S. Presidents, all placed in historical scenes. This museum is 3 miles away from Mount Rushmore. Visitors can see the faces of Mount Rushmore from the parking lot of the wax museum. Come and enjoy a self-guided audio tour and take a photo in the "White House press briefing room." They also have an 8-minute video providing the history of the museum and the process of making wax figures. Other exhibits of historical figures silver screen Hollywood stars are on display as well.

Since the tours are self-guided, the time that visitors spend in the museum varies, but plan on staying for at least an hour. Visitors with children can ask for a "scavenger hunt" at the counter to help their kids stay attentive. Kids will have a great time looking for the clues to find every item on the scavenger hunt. Once the hunt is complete, participants can take it back to the counter for a free National Presidential Wax Museum button.

This wax museum is open seasonally from 9 am to 5 pm March 11 through May 26, with the same hours from September 5 through October 31 from 9 am to 5 pm. Extended hours run from May 27 through September 4, 8:30 am to 8 pm. Admission rates are as follows: adults (13+) $12, seniors (65+) $10, children (6-12) $9, and free for anyone ages 0 to 5. They also have military and group discounts (with groups of 10+ people) where you can get $2 per ticket.
