Visit the glamorous gathering place where people would share stories of their adventures to Alaska.
The Arctic Building was built to accommodate the Arctic Club, an exclusive club for explorers who experienced the Alaskan gold rush. Those who struck it rich from the endeavor were allowed access to the exclusive club, always located in Washington; however, it took a few separate buildings and locations before settling on their final building, which has since been renovated into a hotel.
This hotel has nine stories and is themed after an arctic setting, showing off taxidermized arctic animals, one of them being a polar bear. Come and see the soft, cool color schemes that make you feel like you’re in an adventurer's sanctuary. The building originally had a roof garden when it was still being used as a club, but part of the renovation made that into a penthouse. Due to its historical relevance, in 1978, the building was put on the list of National Historic Places. The Arctic Club building is as beautiful as the area surrounding it. It is well worth the experience and features a bar and restaurant on site.
