This place honors the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and displays historic motorcycles.
The museum opened in June 2001 and has amazing exhibits featuring 100 unique and historic motorcycles dating back to 1905. It is housed in a historical building that was the community's post office for over 60 years. The museum is open year-round and is constantly switching out new displays for its visitors. It can be busy when the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is in town during late summer.
The museum's Hall of Fame recognizes people or groups that have made a positive contribution to the motorcycle community. People are honored by the telling of stories to inspire visitors and those in the riding community. Walking in the doors of the museum allows you to delve into motorcycle history. The tours are self-guided, and admission fees help keep the legends alive through the museum. Anyone with interest in motorcycles will have a blast at this museum and hall of fame. Stop by the next time you're in South Dakota.
