Take a look at this unexpected and unique bronze statue.
The statue of Lenin was created by Emil Venkov in the late 1980s and is made out of bronze. It cost thousands of dollars to build and stands 16 feet tall. The statue of Lenin was created to represent Vladimir Lenin, head of the government of Soviet Russia from 1917 to 1924, and later on, became the head of the Soviet Union. Emil took a unique approach to this piece. Vladimir is usually depicted with a book or pen to establish his status as a philosopher and great thinker. Emil thought it would be more accurate to depict him as the revolution leader, giving him a more aggressive stance and adding more striking angles to the statue.
Eventually, this statue ended up in a scrapyard but was later discovered by Lewis Carpenter who took it to attract visitors to his restaurant. Lewis eventually moved the statue to its current location before he passed away. It stands as a landmark to locals and tourists alike but has sparked some debate over the years.
