Enjoy a bike ride along Cape Cod's captivating coastline.
This paved path follows the same route that the old railway took in the 1800s to mid-1900s. Currently, the trail is 10.7-miles long. With its fairly level grade, it is perfect for casual bikers. The Shining Sea Bikeway is named after lyrics found in the song America the Beautiful, written by a resident from Falmouth, Massachusetts, named Katharine Lee Bates.
If you love biking, you will enjoy this gorgeous trail which gives you views of the water and passes across a local bird sanctuary. To avoid large crowds, it is best to come here in the early morning hours. Please be courteous to other bikers on the path during your bike ride. Feel free to take a breather off to the side and enjoy the view while you're on the Shining Sea Bikeway.
