Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum

Enjoy this children's museum in northeastern Virginia.

Located in the heart of Winchester, Virginia, off of Interstate 81, this museum features four floors with dozens of hands-on activities to entice the young mind. Children can explore various play stations, participate in games, or see a real beehive and try to find the queen through the plexiglass (the bees have access to the outside). They have a scarf blowing machine, a ball rollercoaster, an authentic ambulance, and an apple warehouse. Children can also get their energy out in the sand area, the water table, and an interactive motion-activated sound and music area.

This museum is so vast that they even allow access to the rooftop where guests can soak in the view and play musical instruments. Families can take the elevator for easy access with strollers. The Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Tickets must be purchased online and are available up to one week in advance.
