Visit the largest park in Washoe County, Nevada.
Rancho San Rafael Regional Park is located in northwestern Reno. It used to be a working cattle ranch owned by the Pincolini brothers in the late 1800s. Ownership changed to a couple of other families over the years, and the space was eventually turned into a regional park in 1979. It features historical buildings, a disc golf course, gardens, an arboretum, wetlands, reservable picnic pavilions, and grassy areas to enjoy an outing with friends and family. Anglers are welcome to fish at Herman's Pond if they'd like.
This park offers plenty of hiking trails such as the Arboretum Trail, Pasture Loop, and Evans Creek Trail. Take pictures of the scenic pastures and natural sagebrush landscapes and look for local birds in the arboretum. Rancho San Rafael Regional Park also hosts the famous Great Reno Hot Air Balloon Race and other special events throughout the year. If you're looking for a park in Reno, the Rancho San Rafael Regional Park is the perfect place to go.
