Enjoy views of the Sierra Nevada mountains at Washoe Lake.
Washoe Lake State Park is located off Interstate 580 in between Reno and Carson City. This beautiful Nevada state park is open 24/7 and offers recreational activities such as birding, hiking, camping, and fishing. There are catfish, wipers, white bass, and perch in the lake. Camping is available year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. There are 49 sites, and each has an outdoor table, grill, and fire ring. Several of the camping areas can fit RVs up to 45 feet long, and there is an on-site dump station in Campground Loop A.
Campers can stay for up to 7-days in a 30-day period, and entrance fees are required for each vehicle entering the park. If you want to enjoy a day on the water, there are a few boat ramps at the state park. The main ramp is found in the day-use area. Shotgun hunting is permitted from October through February in specific zones within the park. Whatever you decide to do, enjoy the great outdoors at Nevada's Washoe Lake State Park.
