Enjoy your stay at one of the best campgrounds along Blue Ridge Parkway.
The Peaks of Otter campground is located along Virginia’s Blue Ridge Parkway and is available for use from the end of May to early September. You can book campsites online in advance and click on the site that suits your particular needs or arrive to book a site on a first-come, first-served basis. Some sites allow RVs, and others offer tent-only camping. This is a great area where you can do some hiking, boating, or even swimming at Abbott Lake. Historic structures in the area include the Johnson Farm and Aunt Polly’s Ordinary. If you bring your fishing gear, expect to catch smallmouth bass or bluegill at the lake.
The current rate per day is $20 for both RV and tent campers. There are plenty of trees around, and most sites will offer you shade during your stay. Flush toilets, drinking water, and dump stations are available here for your convenience. Pets are allowed to stay at this campground, but bears tend to be spotted in the area, so take any necessary precautions and please follow the rules. Come and enjoy your time camping here among Virginia’s beautiful rolling hills.
