Visit one of the most beautiful waterfalls along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
If you are looking for a picturesque hike, look no further than Linville Falls. Two hiking trails can lead you to Linville falls. Start at the Linville Falls Visitor Center and take either the Erwins View or Linville Gorge Trail. As you hike, you will get to explore a hemlock forest featuring various wildflowers in the spring and stunning colorful leaves in the fall. Erwins View is a round-trip moderate to strenuous hike that takes you to several overlooks such as Chimney View, Gorge View, and of course Erwins View. There is a considerable elevation gain at certain spots, but the Erwins View Overlook gives you a panoramic view of the Linville Gorge, where you can spot the upper and lower Linville Falls.
Linville Gorge Trail is strenuous and narrow. Guests who choose this route will go down to the lower falls area, which features a pool at the bottom. However tempting it may be to swim here, it is not allowed. Please also refrain from climbing on the rocks underneath and around the cascading waterfall. Please bring your own water bottles and wear proper hiking shoes when you visit. The falls are located in the northwestern region of North Carolina and are worth the trip.
