Tour four different museums located within this exquisite estate.
Built in the rolling hills of North Carolina, this estate is a working farm and event venue that features awesome views of the Uwharrie Mountains. Large group tours and private events should be arranged ahead of time. Small groups have the option to take a self-guided tour of the John Deere Tractor Museum and Antique Industrial Museum. You can see fully restored John Deere tractors, a working 1890s generator, and more antique farming and industrial era machinery. Admission is very affordable, and both museums are open daily from 9 am to 6 pm. Credit cards are not accepted; only cash or check can be used to pay for admission.
The historic Hoover house features furniture from the 1930s and 1940s and was built over 110 years ago. You can come and learn more about subsistence farming and take a look at what it would have been like to be a farmer. Don’t forget to look at Linbrook Hall before you go. This is the central part of the estate and has lots of antiques from around the world. Annually, the estate offers all guests free admission on the first Saturday in October. This is the day when all are welcome to see the live demonstrations about generating electricity with steam, enjoy complimentary ice cream, and tour the museums.
