Discover thousands of nutcrackers from around the world at this quaint museum.
The Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum was founded in 1995 and contains collections of nutcrackers from all cultures. It has a special connection to Germany, which is where the nutcracker originated. You can find it by driving two hours outside of Seattle in a Bavarian-style village. Tourists from around the world have visited this historic building.
This museum has produced several media publications, including a book, a video presentation, a recipe book, and also arranges various activities and events throughout the year. Scavenger hunts are available for both kids and adults, as well as crafts of all kinds. It is a non-profit organization but charges a small fee for those over five years of age to help with maintenance costs. Small dogs that can be carried at all times are welcome to enter the museum and all service animals. You can book group reservations in advance, but walk-ins are also welcome. This is one of the largest nutcracker museums in the United States. It began as a personal hobby and has grown into a 6,000+ piece community collection of nutcrackers.
