Learn about the beloved Christmas movie called It's A Wonderful Life.
The It's A Wonderful Life Museum is in the heart of Seneca Falls, New York, a few blocks east of the iconic It's A Wonderful Life bridge. In the movie "It's a Wonderful Life," the story is set in Bedford Falls. Even though Bedford Falls is a fictional town, Seneca Falls appears to have striking similarities to the movie scenes, and it is believed that the movie was loosely based on a true story from a local member of the community.
Inside the museum, there are hundreds of personal artifacts, photos, and memorabilia from the It's a Wonderful Life movie. Every second weekend in December, a festival is held at Seneca Falls in honor of the film. This is a perfect time to visit; however, the museum is open year-round from 11 am to 4 pm Tuesday through Saturday. In July and August, they are also open on Sundays from 10 am to 3 pm. Admission is free, but they always welcome donations. If you are anywhere near Rochester, New York, it will be worth your time to stop by Seneca Falls to see this museum.
