Learn about the old Louisville and Nashville Railroad at this train museum.
The Historic RailPark and Train Museum is located in the old Bowling Green train station, formerly called the Louisville and Nashville Railroad Station. This historic building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Guests can take a train car tour to see the inside of several train cars, including a luxury private car complete with a bathroom. You can also see the dining car, sleeping car, kitchen, and mail car. The train depot has many original features and everything is well taken care of by the owners.
The museum features several educational exhibits, some of which are interactive, plus several artifacts which are in pristine condition. You will also learn about the Civil War and topics such as segregation and the area's local history. If you like history, you will enjoy learning about the life of railroad workers who used to work here. As you explore the RailPark, take a picture of the large model train on display. This awesome train attraction is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.
