A 59-acre recreation area that is great for fishing and other water sports.
The Hawk Springs State Recreation Area is only 10 miles southeast of Hawk Springs and 10 miles north of La Grange. The recreation area has 59 acres of land on the reservoir's western shore and is managed by the Wyoming State Parks, Historic Sites, and Trails Division. The park has picnic areas, a boat ramp, a boat dock, and campsites to offer its guests. There are 24 primitive campsites and accommodations for trailers. Each site has picnic tables and fire rings. They have restrooms, a playground, and seasonally operated potable water hydrants. Many visitors flock to the area to enjoy boating and fishing in the area. There are many great fishing spots for kids to enjoy, as well. Hawk Springs Reservoir has walleye, largemouth bass, and channel catfish, and many enjoy ice fishing at the reservoir in the winter. There are also numerous hiking trails of varying levels to choose from. Visitors love the smaller size of the park, and the beautiful, quiet area.
