Explore this unique park in Seattle.
Freeway Park encourages you to think outside the box. On July 4th, 1976, Lawrence Halprin and his office were responsible for designing the first wave of the park, although it had to be reconsidered after a series of crimes were committed nearby. A group of concerned neighbors rallied and formed the group FPNA, Freeway Park Neighbor Association, and demanded that the park be reconstructed, leading to what it is today.
This park is made up of stone slabs that are stacked together, mixed with flowing water and greenery. Once you arrive, you'll instantly feel gratitude and inspiration while taking a look at the angel statues. With no clear objective at any given spot, it is up to you to find and create your own fun, making it a fantastic park for adults and children alike.
