This expansive State Park is located on two islands, Fidalgo and Whidbey. At Deception Pass State Park, you will find a historic bridge at Bowman Bay, which was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. There is fun to be had here for anyone that enjoys the outdoors. Some activities include tidepooling, hiking, bird watching, boating, and camping. Go to Cranberry Lake to enjoy a neat swimming hole and fishing area. If you love collecting seashells, there are miles of beachfront in the State Park along the Puget Sound.
Explore the old-growth forests, which have a mile of handicap accessible trails, 3 miles of bike trails, 6 miles of horse trails, 38 miles of hiking trails for visitors. Guests are strongly encouraged to stay on the main trails to avoid getting hurt or lost. Several planned events are held from mid-May through Labor Day if you want to participate in educational programs at this State Park. It is easy to spend multiple days here because there is so much to explore. If you’re touring through Washington, Deception Pass is a great spot to visit.
