Enjoy catching fish in southeastern Kansas.
Cowley State Fishing Lake has bluegill, catfish, largemouth bass, and redear sunfish species. It is located southeast of Wichita, Kansas and is a great place to go fishing. The lake reaches 32 feet at its peak depth. Regardless of which state you're from, you will need a current fishing license from your home state in order to fish here. There is no limit on the number of bluegill you can keep, but there is a daily limit for catfish (up to 10), and bass (up to 5, none exceeding 15" in length).
This lake is also great for hikers and nature lovers. Before you leave, check out the 20-foot waterfall spilling off the edge of the lake and enjoy listening to the sound of water streaming down. This is one of the largest waterfalls in Kansas. If you enjoy soaking in the sights and sounds of nature, be sure to visit the Cowley State Fishing Lake in Arkansas City, Kansas.
