Bowers Mansion Regional Park is just a 20-minute drive south of Reno, Nevada, and features a historic mansion, grassy areas, shade trees, picnic pavilions, and playgrounds. The Bowers Mansion is a restored home dating back to the late 1800s. It was owned by a couple who found their fortune in a silver mine near Gold Hill. Guided tours of the mansion are available on the weekends from Memorial Day through the end of October from 11 am to 4 pm. Please note that they only accept cash for admission fees.
Pets (except for service animals) are not allowed at this park. Wildlife you may see in the area are deer, woodpeckers, squirrels, foxes, black bears, skunks, vultures, owls, raccoons, and more. The iconic Z-shaped outdoor pool is open seasonally, and its hours are 11:30 am to 5 pm. Another fun thing at the park is its weekly performances in front of the mansion.
