A great campground on the banks of Pineview Reservoir.
Pineview Dam is situated at the center forks of the Ogden River. The Pineview Dam has provided irrigation year-round for the farmers located in the Ogden River Canyon since it was built in 1934 under President Roosevelt's authorization. After the dam was built, the Pineview Reservoir became popular for boating and recreation for Eden, Huntsville, and nearby Salt Lake City. Still today, the reservoir is popular for visitors who enjoy warm-weather recreation and campers who want to have a vacation or a staycation.
Anderson Cove Campground is a popular camp area located 10 miles east of Ogden, Utah. It is close enough for people from several cities to arrive fairly quickly for a nice weekend away. Out-of-state visitors also enjoy the area. There are plenty of mature trees providing a great deal of shade. Anderson Cove Campground has a boat ramp and a swimming beach with lots of sand and some rocks. There are volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, vault toilets, and drinking water available. The campground has single sites, tent-only sites, and 5 large group sites that accommodate up to 100 people.
The entrance has a dump station and a small camp store with t-shirts, sweatshirts, camping essentials, drinks, ice, treats, and wood for sale. The area is perfect for boating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, fishing, and water skiing. Many people also bring jet skis. Anderson Cove Campground is open from May through September for all guests.
