Visit an aquarium, botanical garden, and zoo all in one place.
ABQ BioPark is located next to the Rio Grande River near downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. This family-friendly attraction is one of the top tourist destinations in the state. The zoo is home to over 900 animals, including flamingos, penguins, lions, cheetahs, chimpanzees, elephants, zebras, polar bears, kangaroos, crocodiles, and other exotic species from around the world. Guests can also discover the underwater creatures at the aquarium. They have exhibits featuring cuttlefish, sea turtles, river otters, stingrays, zebra sharks, and more.
If you need a place to relax, head to the botanical garden to see acres of native plants and various exhibits like the butterfly pavilion, desert conservatory, dragonfly sanctuary pond, and the children's fantasy garden. Tingley Beach requires no admission and features walking and biking paths, plus three ponds where guests young and old can go fishing. The ponds are stocked with rainbow trout and channel catfish. You can also come to feed the ducks. Instead of bread, consider bringing frozen corn, oats, chopped lettuce, or earthworms for the birds to eat. Tingley Beach is open daily from sunrise to sunset. You can go to the ABQ BioPark any day of the week from 9 am to 5 pm.
