See some of the great battleships and equipment that were used during World War II.
The USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park is a huge attraction. In 1942, the USS Alabama battleship docked at the waterfront in Mobile, Alabama. It was decommissioned after World War II and will remain in Memorial Park.
Visitors are welcome to tour parts of the ship, such as the captain’s cabin, bridge, mess hall, and turrets. Not only can you see the USS Alabama or the “Mighty A,” but you can also see the USS Drum. This is a submarine that was also used during World War II. To continue the history of the great machines used in war, visitors can see different aircraft, such as the B-52 bomber and A-12 Black Bird spy plane, and they can see other military equipment like tanks.
The USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park is a memorial for all of those who served in World War II and had sacrificed so much for the nation these men and women loved. This is a great place to learn more about the war and the impact that the different machinery and equipment made on the war.
