The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a destination that just about has it all – from absolutely breathtaking coastal views, endless activities for the whole family throughout the year, and so much fun exploring to take part in, this national lakeshore is truly one of a kind. There are 65 stunning miles of Lake Michigan shoreline here at Sleeping Bear Dunes and incredible sand dunes that tower above the lake on the surrounding cliffs. Some rise up over 400 feet above Lake Michigan!

There are several different landscapes and ecosystems that make up Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, including wetlands, meadows, lakes, and forests. The park has over 100 miles of hiking trails waiting to be explored in the summer, and the wintertime offers the perfect opportunity to go skiing along them. There is plenty of space for lounging on the shoreline in the warm months. Swimming and kayaking are other popular summertime activities, as well. You might have the chance to see black bears, otters, beavers, turtles, and many more different animal species during your time at Sleeping Bear Dunes! There are  4 different campgrounds for visitors to stay at here, as well.
