Visit the home of William Henry Seward, Abraham Lincoln's Secretary of State.
The Seward House Museum is located in downtown Auburn, New York, just minutes away from the Rosa Park historic home. William Seward was a prominent American politician during the 19th century. This place was built in 1816 and was the home of a county judge (Elijah Miller). Later on, the home was passed down to his daughters, including Frances. Frances was married to William Seward, and she raised their kids in this home while William worked in Washington, D.C.
This place has been on the list of national historic landmarks since 1964. As you explore this home, you will get to see a vast collection of original furnishings, paintings, and personal belongings from the Seward family. This home also features two acres of luscious greenery and garden areas that guests are welcome to explore before they leave.
