The Sawtooth National Forest is an enchanting wilderness in the heart of Idaho. This is one of the most rugged forests in the continental U.S. Sawtooth covers over 2 million acres of land and offers views of snow-capped mountains, alpine tundra, vast plains, and massive bodies of water. The wildlife is abundant here, so prepare to see elk, deer, mountain goats, badgers, moose, and more. This is also a birding paradise with over 200 bird species scattered throughout the park.
If you thrive in the great outdoors, Sawtooth National Forest is an excellent destination. Winter activities such as skiing and snowboarding are a fun pastime for locals. Fishing is allowed in designated regions of the park, and there are various types of trout and salmon swimming in the waterways. When it comes to hiking, there are more than enough trails for every type of hiker. One of the best trails is Fish Hook Creek Trail, a 5-mile loop that is rated as easy and offers breathtaking scenery.
