The gardens were established in 1994 and spans 5 miles with several different lush ecosystems throughout. Sawtooth Botanical Garden strives to educate the community here on various environmental topics and to inform all visitors on all of the naturally occurring habitats in this sector of Idaho.
Throughout the year, Sawtooth Botanical Garden has numerous different events for kids of all ages to get them engaged with understanding and appreciating nature. In the spring and summer, gorgeous wildflowers cover the landscape here which is a true sight. The Garden of Infinite Compassion is a segment of the botanical garden that is arguably the most peaceful and serene portion of the entire place. This area was dedicated in 2005 to the Dalai Lama when he made a visit here. There is hardly a better place to sit and contemplate than in this garden while fixating on the splendid Sawtooth Mountains.
