Newtown Battlefield State Park is located off I-86 in Elmira, New York. It features the historical site where the battle of Newtown took place during the American Revolution. The Sullivan-Clinton Campaign expedition happened in August of 1779, and visitors can see the stone monument dedicated to everyone involved in the battle of Newtown. Newtown Battlefield State Park also has a wooded area that is perfect for camping. They have campsites and rentable cabins available, and their rates are $15 to $30 per night at a campsite and $80 per night in a cabin with a two-night minimum.
If you are coming here for a family gathering, you can rent one of their seven pavilions. Pavilion rental prices range from $50 to $150, and the pavilions can accommodate between 25 and 77 people. Other park amenities include showers, grills, and a playground. This historic state park is open year-round from dawn to dusk and the camping season runs annually from the end of May through early October.
