Enjoy views of the Chautauqua Lake and have fun at one of the oldest amusement parks in the U.S.
Midway State Park is located off of Interstate 86 in northwestern New York. It is a family-friendly attraction that has been around since 1898. You can choose to ride on the vintage carousel, play mini golf, race go-karts, go rock climbing, or play classic carnival and arcade games. All the rides are open seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend from 12 pm to 5 pm. Please note that the rides require one to two tickets, so a wristband purchase may be the most economical option if you plan on riding multiple times.
Once you're done playing, feel free to walk around the area. The Chautauqua Lake has perch, bass, crappie, and muskellunge for anglers to catch. In the fall, several migrating birds come to the lake. Be on the lookout for ducks, geese, loons, and trumpeter swans. Please be respectful of all wildlife and keep the area clean. Enjoy your time at Midway State Park the next time you're visiting northwestern New York.
