The Matthaei Botanical Gardens & Nichols Arboretum are located in the eastern region of Ann Arbor, Michigan. This area provides plenty of flora and fauna for visitors to enjoy, and everyone is welcome to explore the nature trails at their own pace. There is a pond, creek, woodland, and prairie within the botanical gardens. Head to the conservatory buildings to see more exotic plants and trees. There is a tropical, temperate, and arid house where you can enjoy flowers such as orchids, gardenias, camellias, various succulents, and more.
The garden and buildings are open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 am to 4:30 pm, with extended hours on Wednesday (open until 8 pm). Nichols Arboretum (located at 1610 Washington Heights) is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Both the botanical gardens and arboretum have no admission fees.
