The Furstenberg Nature Area is located east of downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan, next to Gallup Park. It encompasses 38 acres along the Huron River, featuring several natural ecosystems such as wetlands and woodlands. Visitors are welcome to walk along the half-mile paved trail or the boardwalk to soak in the sights and sounds of nature. You can also bring leashed dogs along with you. You may hear several frog species in the evenings from spring to early summer. Bird species that often come here include red-wing blackbirds and trumpeter swans, and there are even more wildlife species that call this place home.
This place is open daily from 6 am to midnight. Amenities include picnic tables, restrooms, nature trails, and a bike rack. The Furstenberg Nature Area has been around since 1996 and was designed by a local landscape architect, Peter Pollack.
