A visit to Lake Loramie is full of opportunities for outdoor adventure.
With 407 acres of land and the 1,655-acre Lake Loramie, guests have plenty to do while visiting. The land and lake are operated by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources that was originally constructed in 1824 as a reservoir for the Miami & Erie Canal. The lake and lands have been a state park since 1949. Visitors find a quiet retreat in rural Ohio to swim from a sandy beach, hike along the old canal towpath, stay in a shaded campsite, or boat the lazy waters of Lake Loramie. They have picnic areas, boat docks, picnic shelters, pavilions, and ample green space. Guests can go boating, canoeing, kayaking, and view local wildlife. There is 600 feet of beach here, as well. Camping areas are available and they also offer cabin rentals. There is a dog park and pets are welcome. They also have a great playground for the kids to enjoy.
