Lake Loramie State Park is located in western Ohio. It features 407 acres of land and a 1,655-acre lake, offering plenty of space to enjoy the great outdoors. Originally constructed in 1824, it was a reservoir for the Miami & Erie Canal, and the lake became a state park in 1949. Enjoy a quiet retreat in rural Ohio at this state park. There is a sandy swimming beach, an old canal towpath, campsites, picnic areas, a playground, a disc golf course, boat docks, pavilions, and ample green space. Many visitors enjoy boating, canoeing, kayaking, and viewing the local wildlife during their stay. If you're visiting in the winter, you can go ice fishing, sledding, and snowmobiling at Lake Loramie.
Regular park hours are 6 am to 11 pm daily. They hold annual events such as the Catfish Derby, Fall Festival, and Halloween Campout, so check their website for the most current information. Whether you want to rent a cabin or stay at a campsite, both options are available at Lake Loramie. There is also a dog park, so feel free to bring your furry friends with you. If you're a bird enthusiast, be on the lookout for red-headed woodpeckers, barred owls, and eastern bluebirds.
