The Living History Farms is located off Interstate 35 just outside of Des Moines, Iowa. Visitors of all ages are welcome to explore the 500-acre living history museum to see how farming has evolved over 300 years. There are three "farms" and a historic town with hands-on activities that teach about different farming techniques. This attraction is open seasonally from early May to late October Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm. It is best to arrive before 2 pm so you can get the most out of your visit.
General admission rates are $17 for adults and $10 for children. Group discounts are available for groups of 12 or more people and they also offer military discounts. Leashed dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas only. Photos are allowed for personal use only but commercial use video and photography must be requested in advance.
