The International Rose Test Garden in Portland, Oregon is a must-see for any rose enthusiast. The garden came about because someone convinced the city to designate a safe space for hybrid roses grown in Europe during World War I. In addition to its impressive collection of roses, the garden also offers beautiful views of the city of Portland and Mount Hood.
Visitors can stroll through the garden at their leisure or take a guided tour to learn more about the history and significance of roses. The roses typically bloom between late May through October. The park is open from 5 am until 10 pm, and entry is free to the public.
