See the world's largest collection of banana memorabilia.
The International Banana Museum is located in southern California, near the Salton Sea. This quirky museum has over 25,000 banana-related items, including pictures, keychains, other fun knick-knacks, and a giant banana statue. In 1999, the owners set a Guinness World Record of having the largest museum devoted to one fruit. As if that wasn't enough, they also sell various merchandise and delicious frozen banana treats. Try one of their banana shakes, eat some of their homemade banana ice cream, or buy a frozen chocolate-covered banana to take with you.
Admission rates are $1 per person. This one-room museum has a lot of things to look at, and it is a fun roadside attraction to visit if you're planning to see Joshua Tree National Park. If you like quirky museums, be sure to add the International Banana Museum to your southern California itinerary.
