This state beach has four different beaches and four miles of stunning coastline.
Half Moon Bay State Beach is made up of 4 lovely miles of west coast beaches in San Mateo County, California. The region is gorgeous and picturesque, and it offers a variety of activities for visitors with all sorts of interests to enjoy. There are four beaches that make up Half Moon Bay State Beach, known as Francis Beach, Venice Beach, Roosevelt Beach, and Dunes Beach. There are parking lots at each respective beach and the Coastside Trail that runs along the eastern boundary of the beaches.
Every beach area here has picnic areas, so be sure to pack a filling lunch so you can appreciate with amazing seaside surroundings. There is also a campground at the park for those wanting a full weekend getaway. This is the place to come for beautiful days when you just want to relax, sunbathe, and swim. Fishing and horseback riding are also permitted in some areas, as well. Half Moon State Beach is open every day from 8 am until sunset, and dogs are not permitted on any of the beaches. There’s hardly a better place to enjoy the scenic California coast, especially if you’re partaking in a road trip along the Pacific Coast Highway!
